By the name of Augusta Ada Byron King, she was born in London, United Kingdom, on 10 December 1815. Resourceful and talented, from an early age, she embraced science and developed a method of calculating a sequence of numbers that became known as the first algorithm to be processed by a computer.
Adele was born in Ohio in 1945. She became interested in computer science, and later earned a master’s and PhD in information science from the University of Chicago.
She began working at Xerox PARC in 1973, where she became the manager of the Systems Concepts Laboratory and developed the programming language ‘Smalltalk-80’ along with her team, which years later was used to create one of the first graphical interfaces of (GUIs) such as Macintosh and Windows.
What would we become of us without brilliant Adele, huh?
Dione, the Goddess who gave birth to our name, in one of the many interpretations of Greek mythology, is the female representation of Zeus, the most powerful deity in Olympus.
Just as Adele Goldberg and Ada Lovelace, often female voices, and their technological advances, do not have the proper importance, as well as Zeus’ female representation.
As a result, we adopted that name to rescue the importance of the feminine, the divergence and the value of individuality for innovation in the technological market.
Nothing has ever been given to minorities or women. It was necessary to fight to get equal opportunities, and we keep fighting today
